Farmers Insurance Glass Claim in Georgia: Your Shop

Farmers sends glass bookings through Safelite online, but says you can enter your own shop's details. How a Farmers glass claim works for Georgia drivers.

Farmers does glass a little differently from what many drivers expect. Its glass claims page sends you to book an appointment online through Safelite Solutions, but it also says you can book with a shop you prefer. You start the booking, then enter that shop’s information. If you drive on a Farmers policy near Cumming, that one instruction is the whole key to using your own mobile glass company.

We are Executive Auto Glass, a mobile auto glass company based in Cumming in Forsyth County. We have been in business since 2009. This post is for Farmers customers who want to understand how a glass claim works. We are not Farmers, and we cannot read your policy for you. Every Farmers detail below comes from Farmers’ own page, linked so you can check it.

How Farmers handles glass claims

On its auto glass claims page, Farmers says it works with Safelite Solutions. In Farmers’ words, “If your glass is in need of repair or replacement, you can schedule an appointment with Safelite online.”

That is the main road. You go to the Farmers page, start the booking, and go from there.

The page also covers another case: you already had the glass fixed and paid for it. For that, Farmers has a separate online reimbursement filing. We cover it in its own section below.

And the page lists the Farmers Claims Center phone number, 1-800-435-7764, for people who would rather talk to someone.

What the page does not do is talk about your deductible. It does not mention deductibles or any amounts, so we cannot tell you what Farmers will charge you. Check your policy, or call the Claims Center.

The shop-of-your-choice instruction

This is the part we care about most. The Farmers page says you can book with a shop you prefer. You start the Safelite booking, then provide your shop’s information during the booking process.

That is a plain, practical instruction, and we like it, because it gives you a clear way to name us. Here is how it works:

  1. Go to Farmers’ auto glass claims page.
  2. Start the booking.
  3. When the form asks about the shop, enter Executive Auto Glass and our phone number.

Text us and we will send the exact name and phone number to use.

We will not say that Farmers recommends us or that we are in a Farmers network. The page does not say either, and neither do we. What we say is true and short: we are a preferred insurance vendor for all major insurance companies.

Georgia’s state agencies give the same advice from another angle. The Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance tells drivers in its auto claim tips to know their company’s policy on qualified repair shops. And the state’s consumer protection website notes that insurers differ on shops: some suggest a particular one, others ask for several estimates. Those pages cover repair work generally rather than glass only. The habit is what carries over. Read the Farmers page and your policy before you book.

Step by step: a Farmers glass claim with your own shop

Here is the order we suggest for a driver in Cumming, Dawsonville, Alpharetta or anywhere else we serve.

  1. Photograph the damage. One photo from inside the car, one from outside, and a coin next to a chip to show its size.
  2. Check your policy. Glass is usually part of comprehensive. Look up your deductible in your Farmers account or on your policy papers.
  3. Gather your VIN. We need it to quote a replacement. One vehicle can have up to about 15 windshield versions by option package.
  4. Text us first. Send the photo and VIN. We give you a free estimate and tell you what we see.
  5. Start the Farmers booking. Use the glass claims page, and enter our business name and phone number when asked.
  6. Ask what you owe. Before you confirm anything, find out your deductible and whether it applies.
  7. Send us the confirmation. Text us any claim number or booking reference you receive.
  8. Book the visit. We come to your home or workplace. We are fully mobile, with no shop and no walk-in.

If you would rather skip the booking form, we can file the claim for you. We need your insurance information and the details of the damage.

If you already paid for the repair

Farmers’ page describes a path for people who already had the work done. You file online for reimbursement. If you have a Farmers.com account, the page says to log in first and upload your receipt after filing. You can also upload documents without logging in, using the page’s upload link.

That matters for chip repairs. Say a stone hit your windshield on the way to work in Alpharetta, and you did not want to wait. You texted us a photo, we repaired it, and you paid the flat $85. That price covers up to 3 chips on the same windshield, mobile service included. You can then ask Farmers about reimbursement.

Some practical cautions:

  • Keep your invoice. Ask us for an itemized copy that shows the date, the work and the amount.
  • We cannot promise what Farmers will pay back. That depends on your policy. The page does not say what the reimbursement will be.
  • When you can, ask first. A short call to the Claims Center before the work helps you avoid surprises.

We take cash, check, credit or debit, Venmo, Zelle and Cash App. Paying us directly is simple when that is the better choice for you.

Chip or crack, and why it affects your claim

A claim on a chip is a very different thing from a claim on a replacement. The chip is smaller, the job is smaller, and the question of your deductible lands differently. We cannot say how Farmers treats either, because its page does not. We can say what we see.

A chip smaller than a quarter that sits outside the driver’s line of sight is a good candidate for repair. A crack that runs to the edge of the glass, or damage right in front of the driver, usually means replacement. More than 3 chips on the same windshield, and we usually recommend replacement. A photo from you tells us more than any rule.

Forsyth County sees a lot of gravel from construction trucks, and GA-400 sends stones into windshields every day. Georgia also swings from warm afternoons to cold nights, which can push a crack out of a chip. So we say the same thing to everyone: do not wait.

Start with windshield repair for a chip, or windshield replacement for a crack. For the general picture on coverage, read our page on whether insurance covers a windshield.

Replacement quotes, glass types and the dealer

Replacement pricing depends on your vehicle, and it starts with the VIN. We give a free estimate. Compare it with your deductible: if the estimate is lower than the deductible, filing does not help you, and we will say so.

We install OEM, OEE (original equipment equivalent) and aftermarket glass, so you can choose. We have a fallback when one is not available. What Farmers pays for is a question for Farmers.

We also do door glass, quarter glass and back glass, each with a free estimate based on your vehicle. See door glass replacement for the side window. A customer review confirms we reconnect rear defroster connections on back glass jobs.

If your car has a camera behind the windshield, we do not do ADAS camera calibration. After a replacement on a car that needs it, we refer the calibration to the dealer. Manufacturers recommend dealer calibration, and makers require a controlled indoor space, which cannot be done on a mobile visit.
