Audi Windshield and Auto Glass Replacement
Audi hides a camera behind the windshield and, on some cars, a display on it. Side glass can be acoustic too. Here is how that changes a glass job.

Audi calls its collision-warning system pre sense. On its pre sense page, Audi says pre sense city uses the camera behind the windshield. Another Audi release says the system can use a camera and radar to watch the area in front of the car and give visual and acoustic warnings. So a cracked Audi windshield is not just a cosmetic problem if your car has that camera. The camera looks through the glass, and the glass has to be clear and correct in front of it.
Head-up displays show up in Audi materials as well. Audi says an integrated head-up display is available on the 2022 A3 and S3, showing key vehicle data in the driver's line of sight on the front windshield. For model year 2027, Audi says its Driver Assistance package includes a head-up display, along with a dynamic interaction light and an integrated dashcam. The display glass is a different version from a plain windshield, and we do not swap one for the other.
Audi also uses acoustic glass on the sides. On the 2027 A5 and S5, Audi says dual-pane acoustic glass in the front and rear side windows contributes to a quieter cabin, and its Q3 page describes acoustic front door glass.
