Genesis Windshield and Auto Glass Replacement

Genesis builds its glass for quiet and for a head-up display, so a plain replacement pane will not do.
Genesis is unusually open about its glass. For the GV70, Genesis describes the windshield and all seat-door glass as double-layered laminated glass, paired with a three-layer door seal to cut high-frequency road noise. For the G80, Genesis says acoustic glass is used on the windshield and all the doors. So on these two models, door glass is part of the quiet story as well as the windshield.
That makes door glass jobs different from what you might expect. A broken Genesis door window should be replaced with glass of the same kind, not a basic pane. We read your VIN, check which glass your car was built with, and quote it free by vehicle. The same goes for quarter glass and back glass.
The head-up display is the other big feature. Genesis describes the GV70 head-up display as a 12-inch projection showing speed, directions and safety system information on the windshield, and the G80 has a similar 12-inch windshield projection. Driver assist status and sensor detections also appear on the windshield in front of the driver. A windshield that carries that image has to be made for it, which is why we do not quote by model name.
Driver assistance on Genesis includes Highway Driving Assist 2, which the 2027 GV70 and Electrified GV70 pages list as available on several trims. Genesis's owner guide says HDA uses detection of vehicles and lanes ahead. The pages we read do not confirm the camera hardware or where it sits, so we will not say. We will say what we do: if your Genesis needs camera calibration after a replacement, the dealer does it. We do not calibrate, because makers recommend dealer calibration, third-party tools reach the vehicle computer through a back door that has caused system issues, and the procedure needs a controlled indoor space.
