Land Rover Windshield and Auto Glass Replacement
Land Rover windshields can be heated, can carry a head-up display, and can be treated to cut solar heat. Which one your vehicle has is a VIN question, not a model question.
On a Land Rover the right glass depends on options like a head-up display, so give us the VIN first.
The Defender is the easiest place to see it. Land Rover's US pages describe an optional head-up display that projects key information onto the windshield, paired with the 12.3-inch interactive driver display. On the Defender 90 V8 page, Land Rover says the head-up display is available as part of a new Technology Package. So two Defenders that look identical from the street can have different windshields, because one of them carries a display image.
Heating is the second option. Land Rover's own certified pre-owned inventory pages for Defender 110 vehicles list a heated windscreen in the equipment, alongside items like a heated steering wheel and heated washer jets. We are careful here: that is what those individual vehicles list, and we are not claiming every Land Rover has a heated windshield. What it shows is that the feature exists and is sold, which is the point. A heated windscreen is built differently from a plain one, so we confirm it with the VIN before we order anything.
Solar control is the third. A certified pre-owned Range Rover Velar listing on Land Rover's inventory site names a solar attenuating windscreen and rear privacy glass in its equipment. Again, that is one vehicle's equipment list, not a rule for every Velar. It tells us that your windshield may have a tint-like heat treatment, and that a replacement should be matched to it. We never assume a clear pane is the right pane on a Land Rover.
Land Rover says on its driver assistance page that InControl includes standard and optional driving assistance features, and it names Velar, Evoque and Discovery among the models with advanced driver assistance. We do not claim a camera position for each model, because the pages we read do not give one. The honest approach is to read the VIN and owner handbook for your exact vehicle. If it needs camera calibration after a windshield replacement, the dealer does it. We do not calibrate, because makers recommend dealer calibration, third-party tools reach the vehicle computer through a back door that has caused system issues, and the work needs a controlled indoor space.
One vehicle can have up to about 15 windshield versions by option package, and Land Rover vehicles are a good example. We give a free estimate from the VIN, offer OEM, OEE or aftermarket glass with a fallback when one is not available, and come to your home or workplace. We also replace Land Rover door, quarter and back glass.
Land Rover glass options we have seen the maker list
- Optional head-up display on the Defender, shown on the windshield.
- Heated windscreen in the equipment lists of certified pre-owned Defender 110 vehicles.
- Solar attenuating windscreen named on a certified pre-owned Range Rover Velar.
- Driving assistance features listed for Velar, Evoque and Discovery.
Your estimate is free and comes from your VIN, because a head-up display, heated or solar treated windshield changes the part. Chip repair is $85 flat for up to 3 chips on the same windshield, mobile service included.
Questions Drivers Ask
How do I know if my Defender has a heated windshield?
Check your build sheet or equipment list, or send us the VIN. Land Rover lists a heated windscreen in some Defender 110 equipment, and the VIN shows what yours has.
My Land Rover has a head-up display. Does that change the glass?
Yes. A windshield that carries a display image is a different version, and we match it to the VIN.
Do you calibrate camera systems after replacement?
No. If your Land Rover needs calibration, the dealer does it. We tell you before the job.
Can I get an estimate by text?
Yes. Text us a photo of the damage and your VIN, and we give you a free estimate.
