Mitsubishi Windshield and Auto Glass Replacement

Some Mitsubishis have a camera based collision system and, on the top Outlander trim, a head-up display. Others have neither. The VIN sorts out which glass you need.

Good to know

Mitsubishi windshields can differ by trim and package, so we match the glass to the VIN instead of the model name.

Mitsubishi's forward collision system is a good example of why trim matters. On the 2026 Outlander, Mitsubishi lists Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection as standard on the ES trim. Mitsubishi's material on earlier models says the system responds to vehicles and pedestrians through a camera and laser radar, and a later Outlander Sport release describes detection through a camera and radar. We do not tell you where the camera sits, because the pages we read do not say. We read your VIN and look up the build.

Mitsubishi is also candid about what these systems are. It calls Forward Collision Mitigation a driver aid only, and says it is not a substitute for safe and careful driving. That fits our view of glass. A cracked windshield on a car with a camera is something to take seriously, but no windshield is a promise that the car will avoid a crash, and we would never say it is.

The head-up display is the notable glass feature. On the 2026 Outlander, Mitsubishi lists a head-up display with the SEL trim's Premium Package. Mitsubishi's PHEV page shows it too, with a note that drivers should not focus only on the display while driving. A display car needs a windshield made for it. That alone is a reason one Outlander can need a different windshield from the one parked next to it.

So the practical answer is the VIN. One vehicle can have up to about 15 windshield versions by option package, and Mitsubishi has a mix of trims and packages across its line. We read yours, find the right version and give a free estimate. We install OEM, OEE or aftermarket glass so you can choose, and we have a fallback if one is not available.

If your Mitsubishi needs camera calibration after a windshield replacement, the dealer does it. We do not calibrate. Makers recommend dealer calibration, third-party tools reach the vehicle computer through a back door that has caused system issues, and the procedure needs a controlled indoor space that a mobile visit cannot offer. We come to your home or workplace and also replace Mitsubishi door, quarter and back glass. If you are not sure what your glass is, text us a photo of the damage.

What Mitsubishi publishes

  • 2026 Outlander: Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection standard on ES.
  • The system responds to vehicles and pedestrians through a camera and radar.
  • 2026 Outlander: head-up display with the SEL Premium Package.
  • Mitsubishi calls the collision system a driver aid only.
What it costs

The estimate is free and uses your VIN. A chip repair is a flat $85 for up to 3 chips on one windshield, mobile service included. More than 3 chips, we usually recommend replacement.
